Intre 1993 si 1994 si apoi iarasi in 2004 si 2005, Michael Jackson a fost investigat de autoritatile din California pentru acuzatii de molestare de copii. Ulterior acesta a fost achitat. In timpul investigatiilor Biroul Federal de Investigatii a asistat autoritatile care il investigau pe Jackson. Totodata FBI a fost cel care a investigat amenintarile aduse la viata cantaretului, de catre persoane care ulterior au fost ulterior condamnate.
