Familie de românii arestată în Virginia de Vest pentru furturi, conform autorităților.

A Romanian "family" accused of thefts at multiple businesses in St. Albans – and possibly elsewhere in the area – has been taken into custody, police said.
Ronaldinio Iancu, 18; Cristina Valentina Grangure, 28; Simona Tudor, 25; and Catalina Chiciu, 34, are all charged with grand larceny after being taken into custody Sunday, the St. Albans Police Department said in a news release.

Police initially responded to the Walgreens in St. Albans about 7:45 p.m. Sunday for a theft complaint after employees said a “family” had entered the store and “cleared out” a shelf of more than $2,500 in over-the-counter medications before leaving in a van, the news release said.

Employees were able to provide investigators with a vehicle registration, which allowed them to track down the vehicle. Police said they noticed several items that appeared to be stolen from the Walgreens in the vehicle during a traffic stop.

The four adults in the vehicle were taken into custody following the traffic stop.

The group is accused of also stealing more than $2,500 worth of facial care products from the CVS in St. Albans and multiple auto parts from the AutoZone earlier in the day.

The four people claimed to be Romanian, but had previously lived in the United Kingdom and most recently in Charlotte, North Carolina, the news release said.

St. Albans police said similar thefts have been reported throughout Kanawha and Putnam counties and are being investigated by separate agencies.

Three children – a 6-month-old, 1-year-old and 7-year-old – who were in the vehicle at the time the group was taken into custody were turned over to Child Protective Services.
