Theatre Y Chicago presents Juliet written by András Visky and directed by Kevin Smith.
The dramatic story takes place in the 60s in communist Romania 🇷🇴, when a mother with 7 children is arrested and deported to the Romanian wilderness, as a part of the dictatorial Communist party’s Bărăgan deportations, after her husband is sent to prison for crimes against the regime. The author of the play was a year old at the time and the youngest of the family. Julia, his mother, kept the family together for six years despite poverty and starvation, until a random amnesty set them free and reunited with their father.

Piesa de teatru “Juliet” de dramaturgul transilvănean András Visky pusă in scenă la Theatre Y in Chicago, in perioada 16 Ianuarie -16 Februarie 2020.
O dramă a unei mame cu șapte copii a cărui soț a fost arestat și condamnat de regimul comunist, ea fiind deportată, cu domiciliul forțat, in Bărăgan, timp de 6 ani. O piesă pe cât de dramatică pe atât de vie și actuală în America zilelor noastre, ținând cont de drama separării familiilor la granița de sud a Statelor Unite, fapt evidențiat și-n piesă.
Cu o interpretare excelentă a actriței Melissa Lorraine, dar și a celor 3 mame cu bebelușii lor, printre care și actrița Simina Contras, piesa nu este doar dramatică ci și plină de viața și culoare. Dacă aveți timp merită să o vedeți.
