Călin Georgescu the TikTok candidate

 Romanian presidential election results were a shock wave for the traditional political establishment. The Liberal Party and the Socialist Democratic Party were the biggest losers of this election. The biggest surprise was an unexpected and mostly unknown independent candidate, Calin Georgescu,  who has no political party behind him. His campaign staff is unknown, most of his supporters and followers are from TikTok, Facebook and other social media platforms. 

He’s a sympathizer of Russia and Vladimir Putin, a nationalist and extremist, promoter of conspiracy theories. Călin Georgescu is 62, has a background in Agriculture engineering and  a PhD in Pedology (soil science). He worked for United Nations for two years  as a Romanian representative.
